The Salt Crystal Garden

This is the first day of the Salt Crystal Garden. I would use my recipe if you want fast results. I used concrete and sponges.

We tried it both ways on rocks and sponges. This is the beginning stage. We'll take more pictures tomorrow.

Here is a link to find out how to make your own Salt Crystal Garden!!!Pictures will follow shortly.

Here is a simple recipe
A few pieces of coal or some rocks, a shallow bowl, 6T salt, 6T bluing, 6T water, 1T ammonia, food coloring

Place the coal or rocks in the bottom of the shallow bowl. Combine salt, bluing, water, and ammonia in a small bowl and mix well. Pour mixture over coal or rocks. Add a few drops of different food colorings over the mixture. Let stand a few hours. Crystals will begin to form. They will grow to be colorful and interesting for several days.

You can make the garden grow for a long time if you read the instructions completely on their website.
Enjoy!!!!
